How To Tie a Tie

how to tie a skinny tie

Skinny ties can require a little more attention than standard neckties because they need a tie knot that packs a bit of extra punch. Because skinny ties are only 3/4 the width of standard neckties, they need a special knot that makes them look more robust than they really are. Cue: the Prince Albert Knot. It's big and confident- just like you.

ABOUT THIS KNOT

Skinny ties first became popularised in the late 1950s by British music bands like The Beatles and the Kinks. Throughout history, skinny ties have fluctuated on the global trend radar. However, in the 21st century, they've risen to popularity as the most appraised choice for weddings and red carpets.

Styling tips

The Prince Albert Knot bodes well in boardroom settings, but it can also be dressed up to suit any occasion! It works superbly with narrow collared shirts and you can pair it with any tie colour or pattern of choice.

Pressure points

Keep your finger under the loop during the tying process to ensure that it's loose enough to slide the wide end through at the end. Also ensure that you properly secure the knot by pulling down on the wide end firmly once the knot is tied.
